Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine

πΊ Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy
The Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy is the professional wind orchestra of the Royal Netherlands Navy and ranks among the very finest military bands in Europe. The ensemble is renowned for its musical excellence, wide-ranging repertoire, and its prominent role in national and international ceremonial occasions.
π History
Founded: April 5, 1945, in London
Originally formed from Dutch marines stationed in England during the Second World War.
Since 1945, the band has grown into the musical flagship of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
Despite its name, the ensemble is not composed exclusively of marines; its musicians are professional service members employed by the Ministry of Defence.
